A Princess For A Day

Princess For A Day

Miss E was pretty excited! She was booked in for a Princess Photo Experience – she would get to wear a Princess dress, have a floral crown and use a lace parasol as a prop too. She packed some of her own pretty dresses, hair clips and shoes and then hopped in to the car with her Mum and big brother and they made their way to the photo session location.

The location was one of our favourite parks in the Eastern Suburbs of Adelaide. It is green and leafy and the perfect spot for the images we had planned for that day.

We set up our portable change room and Miss E was soon looking amazing. The photo experience began, a little shy at first but Graham soon made her feel comfortable and relaxed. Her brother joined in with some of the photos in this session too and before long everyone was having a great time.

Unfortunately, due to excitement, Miss E did not eat much breakfast. Suddenly a cry from big brother and our Princess was fainting. That was an experience no one was expecting – however we always come prepared with nibbles and lots of water – and after some re-hydration and a snack our beautiful Princess was back on her feet again giving us the best images!

Photos in the Park

I can’t believe we were so lucky with the weather on the day Mikayla and Marcus met us for their Photos in the Park experience. It was not hot by any stretch of the imagination but it did not rain. It was nice to be able to pop open our beautiful white lace parasol which beautifully complimented the fresh floral crown made especially for the occasion!

The flowers were chosen to compliment Mikayla’s complexion, eyes and hair as well as the clothes that she had chosen to wear on the day. Quite a lot of planning and preparation happens before the photo session to ensure everything looks great on the day!

I love the way these two really relaxed during the session. They look so natural and relaxed in these photos.

If you would like to have your own photo experience contact us and we will be happy to discuss some ideas with you. There are still two sessions available this Sunday, 18th of September but bookings are essential so call me on 0481 190 163 for your personal time allocation. More details here.

Focused and Reflective

Sometimes a prop can transform a photo experience to a different time and place. This beautiful Pathein parasol from Myanmar did exactly that for this photo session.

Sitting on the edge of the olive grove Miss C was able to tell us that it was a gift from her Farmor and Papa.

Instead of a fairy fluttering through the forest with her spectacular wings she became a more focused and reflective subject.

Miss C has quite a passion for parasols and umbrellas. We have in fact had the pleasure of being asked to take her photo previously with several different parasols and umbrellas, but this one was the most beautiful I think.

At the end of the day, Miss C had to change back in to her own clothes ready to go home. She noticed me showing her Mummy and Daddy some of the new items in my prop box – “Oooh what’s that?” she asked. “A flouro pink tutu” I answered. “Can I try it on?” she asked. So we popped it on over the top of her clothes she was already dressed in. She swooped up her parasol and rushed back to Graham before he packed up – “May I please have some more photos with this?”….

Parasols or Sunbrellas?

Sometimes during our photo sessions – suddenly – as if from nowhere – my prop box appears!

All sorts of goodies can be found but I have discovered that my parasols – or “sunbrellas” as one adorable little cutie called them – are very popular!

I love to use hats, flowers, headbands, parasols, feathers, fans and scarves to give a certain look to a photo. It seems to help relax people and then they are able to put the prop down and give us some beautiful natural, relaxed photos.

Book your photo session today!

A big thank you to my two beautiful models for today’s post.
